Where art and community unite
At Escarpin Productions, we create safe, vibrant spaces where queer culture comes alive. Our mission is to empower artists, celebrate diversity, and foster a strong, inclusive community in Umeå.
Our stages give performers and audiences alike the freedom to express themselves, connect, and be inspired. Every event is a space for creativity, identity, and community to flourish.

Our commitment
Escarpin Productions exists to create spaces where queer people, performers and audiences alike, can truly feel at home in Umeå.
Every event, from Club Bisous to smaller performances, is designed to be safe, welcoming, and inclusive. We want everyone to feel free to express themselves, try something new, and connect with others without fear of judgement.
Through our events and collaborations, we aim to strengthen the queer community, welcoming artists and audiences from Umeå, other Swedish cities, and even across the Baltic Sea. We create moments that leave people inspired, connected, and celebrated.

Our values
Our values are not decorative statements, they guide our artistic direction, our collaborations, and the way we care for both artists and audiences. They shape how Escarpin Productions operates within Umeå and the wider region.
- Inclusivity & Access
- We create environments where people across gender identities, sexualities, abilities, economic circumstances, and cultural backgrounds can participate without fear of exclusion. Accessibility (physical, financial, and social) is a fundamental consideration in how we design and deliver our events.
- Empowerment
- We provide space for queer artists, voices, and community members to be seen, heard, and celebrated. From first-time performers to active participants in our events, we cultivate conditions that encourage experimentation, expression, and collective growth.
- Cultural Change
- We recognise that queer cultural work is inherently political. Through our themes, formats, and programming, we challenge dominant norms and reimagine how nightlife and performance can function. Our events are spaces not only for celebration, but for sustained visibility and collective transformation.
- Social Impact
- We believe our work extends beyond individual events. By uplifting queer voices, fostering participation, and supporting community initiatives, we contribute to a stronger, more visible, and connected queer ecosystem in Umeå and northern Sweden.
- Grassroots Sustainability
- Escarpin Productions is rooted in collective effort and mutual support. We prioritise ethical practice, transparency, and reciprocal relationships with volunteers, partners, and collaborators. Financial and organisational resilience, alongside wellbeing for all involved, underpins our long-term vision.
- Regional Commitment
- We are dedicated to strengthening queer cultural life in Umeå and across northern Sweden. By sustaining year-round programming and engaging local communities, we contribute to a vibrant queer presence beyond metropolitan centres.
Our partners

Benjamin started Escarpin Productions to create safe, vibrant spaces where queer culture and community come alive. As a member of the RFSL Umeå board, he combines advocacy with hands-on event production: booking performers, coordinating volunteers or designing themes. Benjamin ensures every event reflects inclusivity, creativity, and community care. He continues to produce flagship events like Club Bisous, a space where creativity, community, and queer expression come together.
