Benjamin Sientzoff, organiser of Club Bisous and board member of RFSL Umeå, highlights how discrimination can start at the door, with staff or guards deciding who belongs. To address this, he founded Escarpin Productions, a grassroots initiative creating safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ people. From queer club nights and pub quizzes to speed dating and cabaret, these events connect the community and showcase local talent.
