BONJU arrives at the Arctic Arts Summit.
“Bonju” is a Sámi word meaning crooked, not straight — reclaimed in a similar way to queer.
On 16 June, BONJU opens as a queer-centred Indigenous gathering within the Arctic Arts Summit, bringing together delegates, artists, and guests for an evening of performance, encounter, and celebration at Scandic Plaza in Umeå.
Hosted by Timimie Märak, the evening features live performance by Linus Johnsen, burlesque by Pepper Potemkin, and DJs sets by Frtetude.
